US based Khalsa Global Reach Foundation financial assistance to KCE


Funds Meant for Meritorious Girl Students: Chhina

United States based Khalsa Global Reach Foundation (USA) today presented a check of Rs. three lakhs to Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina as special financial assistance for deserving students at Khalsa College of Education (KCE), G. T. Road (KCE). KCW Principal Dr. Harpreet Kaur received the check from Dr.Sarbjit Singh, President, Langar Challe Guru Shabad Sanstha who was here on behalf of the Foundation.

The Foundation owned by ex-students of the Khalsa College had been sending financial assistance for the bright and meritorious students to its alma mater and its sister concerns. Recently, such assistance of Rs. 5 lakh was sent for Khalsa College for Women. Speaking on the occasion, Chhina said that the funds will be given to the meritorious girl students as per the guidelines agreed upon with the foundation earlier as he thanked the management of Global Reach Foundation for promoting the girls’ education.

“With this kind of help the deserving students who wanted to pursue higher education will be immensely benefitted”, said he adding that KCGC was proud of its rich alumni worldwide. Principal Dr. Harpreet Kaur said they were greateful to Global Reach Foundation and Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) for the help.

Dr Sarbjit Singh who himself is an alumni of the College said the Foundation had been spearheading a movement for promotion of education in the border areas especially in the rural belt and the assistance was part of their outreach program.

Khalsa College Global Alumni Association (KCGAA) President Dr. Davinder Singh Chhina who is an acclaimed promoter of art and culture internationally said they appreciate the gesture of former students and alumni of the great Khalsa College. He said the alumni worldwide are committed to join hands with the KCGC for the promotion of education.
